COMING SOON – GLASS SLIPPER PROJECT

This project is one that is very close to my heart.

The aim is to offer the free loan of a prom dress to school children, sixth form students and college students across the Solihull Borough who may find that they otherwise would not be able to attend their School Prom due to finance.

During my career as a seamstress/dressmaker, I have encountered a number of parents under a huge amount of financial pressure to buy their daughters the latest Prom dress designs for their up-and-coming prom. Sometimes it has meant taking on a second job to cover the cost.

For some families the current economic climate is so tough as inflation is at a highest, energy costs are on the up and post pandemic unemployment has never been so high.

The Blossom Club will aim to provide economically underprivileged individuals suffering financial hardship with a beautiful dress so that they can feel confident, proud and beautiful. The eligibility for this scheme is that one/both of your parents are on JSA or ESA.

This is a brand new project and we plan to launch it in October 2022.  On a Monday evening after school, we will offer a selection of  dresses to eligible children on a first come- first serve basis,  ready to wear in time for then 2023 Prom.
